Despite progress over the years, more than 700 million people still live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $2.15 a day. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide.

📉 The COVID-19 pandemic, climate disasters, and rising global inequality have pushed millions back into poverty. Development aid is shrinking just when it’s needed most.

💡 Why it matters:

Poverty isn't just about income — it affects education, health, safety, and opportunity.

Children in poverty are more likely to drop out of school, suffer malnutrition, and lack access to clean water.

Many working adults earn too little to support their families — this is called working poverty.

🌐 What we need:

✅ Stronger social protection for all

✅ Fair wages and decent work

✅ Continued support through global cooperation and aid

✅ Urgent action to reduce inequality

🚨 No one should be left behind. Achieving #SDG1 is the first step toward building a just, peaceful, and equal world.
