World Malaria Day, everyone! Did you know this day is celebrated every year on April 25th?
Our teacher told us that malaria is a serious sickness caused by a tiny parasite spread by infected mosquitoes. It can make people, especially kids, super sick with fever, chills, and headaches.
This year's theme is "Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite," emphasizing the importance of working together to fight this disease. It's about finding new ways to stop malaria, getting more people to help, and not giving up!
Here's how even kids can help:
- Share information about malaria and how to stay safe with family and friends.
- Help your family clean up areas around the house where water can collect, as these are places where mosquitoes lay eggs.
- Wear long sleeves and pants, particularly in the evening, to avoid mosquito bites.
- Use mosquito repellent when going outside
- Inform a grown-up if experiencing symptoms like fever, chills, or headache so they can arrange prompt medical attention.
Working together, a difference can be made to help make the world malaria-free! 🌎💚
