The key to success, as we all believe, is intellect, skills and talent, but there is another thing that plays a pivotal role in achieving success, a positive mindset. Our mindset affects the way we think, act and perceive things. A positive mindset lays the foundation for turning our failures into stepping stones, which provides us with experience and eventually helps us succeed. Einstein was an advocate of optimism and positive mindset, one of his most famous quotes is -"Failure is success in progress.” Not only Einstein but every great person in history be it a musician, a writer or a businessman, opted for a positive mindset.

How does positive thinking work? A question often asked by many well, I recently read a book ‘the secret’ by Rhonda Byrne, the crux of which revolves around the same. It tells us about the law of attraction which says that thoughts have a frequency and as we think, our thoughts are sent out to the universe and then they return to the source which is the person thinking, in the form of things.  I believe in the philosophy of “thoughts become things”, greatly discussed in the book. This emphasizes that positive thinking is not an out of the box creation but is backed by science and connects with concepts like placebo effect, believing in a positive outcome can lead to real physical and mental improvements and neuroplasticity.
