Resource depletion, also known as natural resource depletion, occurs when resources are consumed faster than they can be replenished, leading to their exhaustion. This can happen with both renewable and non-renewable resources. Over-exploitation of resources, such as fossil fuels, minerals, water, and forests, can cause significant environmental damage, including pollution, biodiversity loss, and soil erosion.
