Chandrayaan-3 is India's third lunar exploration mission, developed by ISRO. It was launched on July 14, 2023, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The mission aimed to demonstrate a soft landing on the Moon's south pole. It consisted of a lander (Vikram) and a rover (Pragyan) but had no orbiter. On August 23, 2023, Vikram successfully landed, making India the first country to reach the Moon's south pole. Pragyan rover explored the surface, analyzing soil and rocks for scientific studies. The mission confirmed the presence of sulfur and other elements in lunar soil. It also helped improve lunar landing technology for future missions. Chandrayaan-3 strengthened India's position in space exploration. The mission was a huge success, inspiring future deep-space missions.
