Workshop on Menstrual Health and Hygiene.
Awareness leads to preparedness and preparedness leads to confidence.
Effective menstrual hygiene is vital to the health, wellbeing empowerment and productivity of girls. A small step taken to educate girls about menstruation can bring a huge difference in their lives. Poor menstrual hygiene may cause stigma, ill health and can lead to school absentism.
To educate our girl pupils of Grade V to VIII, JKGISV organised a workshop on the topic "Importance of Menstrual Hygiene"  in the school auditorium.
Our resource person Ms Radha from Procter & Gamble Health Care Pvt Ltd explained the students about maintaining menstrual hygiene, so to be sheltered from various types of infections which they are prone to these days if not educated.
The session educated our learners about the biological process of menstruation with the help of video clippings and how to manage it in a more hygienic way. The main aim of the workshop was to create a world in which every girl can manage her menstruation in a hygienic way. The workshop unfolded squeamishness around menstruation that affects many tender girls adversely across the world.
