India's freedom struggle was a long and inspiring journey. For over 200 years, India was ruled by the British. But many leaders, like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, and Subhas Chandra Bose, fought for India's independence. They used peaceful methods like protests, marches, and boycotts to challenge the British rulers. Gandhi's famous Salt March and his call for non-violence inspired millions of people. After many years of struggle, on August 15, 1947, India finally became free. This day is celebrated every year as Independence Day, reminding us of the sacrifices made by many people to give us freedom and the opportunity to build our nation.
