The theme for this year's International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is “Ending Social and Institutional Maltreatment Acting together for just, peaceful and inclusive societies.” Poverty Alleviation Programmes aims to reduce the rate of poverty in the country by providing proper access to food, monetary help, and basic essentials to households and families belonging to below the poverty line threshold. One of the toughest challenges experienced by independent India is poverty and it further brings more challenges in life. Effects on Health: This biggest challenge of poverty is poor health.
