Yakshagana is a form of traditional folk dance folk dance popular in the coastal districts of Karnataka and Kasargod district of Kerala. The meaning of word 'Yakshagana' is the song (gana) of the demi-gods or spirits (Yaksha). It is usually performed at night in open-air theaters.
