8.1 BILLION AND STILL COUNTING is a big thing. It is likely to touch around 10.4 billion by the end of the century, claims the United Nations. Meanwhile, in 2023, India surpassed China in becoming the most- populous country, the most significant shift in global demogrphics since records began. According to experts, in India, the populationhas grown by more than a billion since 1950. Though growth has now slowed, the numbers of people in the country is still expected to continue to rise for the next few decades, hitting its peak of 1.7 Billions by 2064. Today, on an average, 86000 babies are born a day in India in comparison to 49000 in China
