The world's oceans contain nearly 20 million tons of gold. While this gold is dissolved in seawater, it is present in such minute quantities that extracting it is currently not feasible with existing technology. The concentration of gold in the ocean is approximately 13 billionths of a gram per liter, making it a vast, yet largely untapped, resource.
