Bees are one of the world's most important pollinators for food crops — each day we rely on bees and other pollinators. In fact, out of every three bites we consume relies on pollination. Yet bee populations continue to decline due to the rampant use of pesticides and other environmental factors — like climate change.
A single bee colony can pollinate 300 million flowers each day. Grains are primarily pollinated by the wind, but fruits, nuts, and vegetables are pollinated by bees. Seventy out of the top 100 crops that humans consume, which supplies up to 90% of the world’s nutrition, are pollinated by bees! No bees, no food, it’s that simple. We need to save the bees from bee extinction!
There are various methods to save these pollinators:
1) Plant bee friendly flowers.
2) Pesticides are neurotoxic to bees. Thus, reduce the use of pesticides and put a ban to them!
3) In the heat of summer, set up a bee pond with safeguards like rocks, so that the bees don’t drown. Remember, bees need water as well!
4) Building a bee hotel is a effective way to save bees!
5) Support the local beekeper
Let's take these steps and save our little pollinators before it's too late!!
