Preface

As humanity has embarked on an unprecedented journey of Exploration into the depths of Space within this universe and beyond the limits of Earth; From landing men onto the Surface of  Moon  , to sending unmanned Rovers to Mars , humans continue their thirst for knowledge and discovery throughout Space and beyond. The Mission to create a permanent human presence on Mars is now one of the most ambitious Scientific Goals. To Colonize Mars means to establish permanent Human Habitation on Mars, however while Colonizing Mars is a huge aspiration there are many factors that need to be taken into consideration such as feasibility, morality and survival.

There are several good reasons to support Colonizing Mars:

The Future Survival of Homo sapiens: There are many impending threats to Earth's continued existence including Global Warming, Natural Disasters like Floods, Hurricanes, Tsunamis etc. and Large Asteroids that could have devastating consequences for Humanity (not to mention "The Next Ice Age"). Once established as an Integrated Colony on the surface of Mars, the Colony would provide an option for the continuation of the human race should catastrophic events cause the extinction of mankind on Earth.

Scientific Gains and Advancements: Establishing a Colony on the surface of Mars would provide Scientists with the opportunity to perform Scientific Research and obtain valuable data regarding the Geology, Atmosphere and potential for the existence of Life on Mars. Such Scientific Research may provide answers to some of the biggest questions in Science, including how did we get here? and is there Life outside of our Solar System?

The Creation of New Technologies: The construction and establishment of a Permanent Human Colony on Mars would create Employment opportunities, New Technologies needed to Support Life (Life Support), Energy sources, Methods of Transportation, and Methods of Communication. Such Technologies and Innovations will benefit mankind on Earth by improving Health Care and Robotics and providing Renewable Energy Solutions.

Global Inspiration and Cooperation: The Mission to colonize Mars will provide a shared vision, inspiration, and basis for countries to work collaboratively towards achieving a common goal.
