World Humanitarian Day - August 19, honors people who dedicate their lives to helping others. But this spirit of service is not reserved for adults or aid workers. Students, too, can be humanitarians in their communities, through kindness, climate care, and simple daily actions.
This year, the theme is “It Takes a Village,” and at GoSharpener, we believe it takes a classroom, a school, and a generation of students to build a better world.
GoSharpener Activity
GoSharpener students created their own “Kindness + Climate” maps, charting how acts like helping a friend, sharing tiffin, or biking to school contribute to both well-being and sustainability. They also interviewed local helpers (sanitation workers, gardeners, nurses) to learn about everyday unsung heroes.
Using their Impact Profiles, students measured how social and environmental care go hand-in-hand. From sharing to composting, each act of empathy found a space on their sustainability journey.
Why GoSharpener Is Different
GoSharpener's model doesn't separate values and action. It helps Gen Z understand that caring for people and the planet are deeply connected. Through real-time reflection and community tasks, the platform empowers students to become local changemakers.
GoSharpener is a platform creating India’s Most Trusted Gen Z Sustainability Scoring System. Just like a credit score tracks finances, the SustainabilityScore reflects how thoughtful and active you are toward people and the planet.
