Independence Day 2025

Independence Day 2025 is a national holiday celebrated every year on 15 August. In 2025, India proudly celebrates 79th Independence Day on 15 August 2025. The day marks India’s freedom from British rule achieved on 15 August 1947. It is one of the most important national festival in India. On 15 August 1947 first prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, hoisted the Indian flag on the Red Fort in Delhi. It is observed with flag hosting ceremony, parades and cultural events.
