Problem:

Clean drinking water is very important for our health. But many people, especially in villages and even in some cities, drink dirty water. This can cause serious diseases like diarrhoea, typhoid, cholera, and stomach pain. I saw this problem in some villages where people cannot afford costly water filters or bottled water.

My Solution:

I created “Jal Rakshak,” a simple and low-cost water purifier. It is made using things that are easily found at home. It does not need electricity and can be made by anyone. It helps clean dirty water and makes it safe to drink.

Materials Used:

  • A plastic bottle or a clay pot
  • Charcoal
  • Clean sand
  • Small stones
  • Cotton cloth

How it will work:

The materials are placed inside the bottle in this order:

  1. Cloth Layer – Stops big particles like leaves or dirt
  2. Gravel Layer – Catches stones and bigger dirt
  3. Sand Layer – Filters out smaller particles and mud
  4. Charcoal Layer – Removes bad smell, germs, and harmful chemicals

When we pour dirty water from the top, it passes through each layer and comes out cleaner from the bottom. The water looks clean and is safer to drink.

Why Jal Rakshak is Useful:

  • Cheap: No need to buy costly machines
  • No electricity needed: Works anywhere, even in villages
  • Eco-friendly: Made using natural materials
  • Reusable: Can be cleaned and used again
  • Educational: Shows how science helps in real life

Where It Can Be Used:

  • In villages and schools
  • During floods or emergencies
  • In areas where clean water is not available
  • For travel, camps, or outdoor use

Conclusion:

Jal Rakshak is a useful, eco-friendly water purifier that anyone can make. It can help prevent diseases, save money, and improve health. If more people start using it, it can bring a big change in many lives.
