🌍 What Are the Tropics?

The Tropics refer to the area between:

  • The Tropic of Cancer (23.5° North) and

  • The Tropic of Capricorn (23.5° South).

This region includes large parts of:

  • Africa

  • Asia

  • South and Central America

  • The Caribbean

  • Oceania


📚 Why 29 June?

  • On 29 June 2014, the first “State of the Tropics Report” was launched.

  • It was presented by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi and other international leaders.

  • The report highlighted the social, economic, and environmental trends in tropical regions.
