Let’s be real — childhood should be about learning, laughing, and lowkey living your best life, not working 10-hour shifts in sketchy factories. But sadly, that’s not the reality for over 160 million kids around the world. Yup, millions of children are being forced into labour — no school, no play, just pure struggle.
So what’s World Day Against Child Labour?
It’s a global reminder that child labour still exists and it’s hella wrong. Every year on June 12, people, orgs, and even governments speak up to push for laws and action to protect kids. It’s about giving children their right to be kids.
Why it still matters in 2025?
With wars, poverty, and climate disasters on the rise, more families are being pushed into survival mode — and guess who suffers? The youngest ones. The pandemic made it worse too, pushing more children into work and out of schools.
What can we do?
-
✊🏽 Speak up. Spread awareness, even if it’s just a story on Insta.
-
💸 Support brands that are fair-trade and child-labour free.
-
🧠 Educate yourself and others. Change starts with knowing.
-
📢 Push for policy. Support orgs fighting this fight for real.
Let’s not stay silent while kids are silenced. Every child deserves a childhood — not a job.
