World Gastronomy Day, officially known as Sustainable Gastronomy Day, is observed on June 18 every year. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2016. The purpose of this day is to celebrate the art of food, cooking traditions from around the world, and to promote the idea of sustainable gastronomy which means preparing and eating food in a way that is healthy for us and for the planet.
