World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5th June to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our environment. It was established by the United Nations in 1972 and is now celebrated in more than 100 countries. Each year, a different country hosts the event and a specific theme is chosen to highlight a major environmental issue.

The environment is everything around us—trees, water, air, animals, and even the soil. A clean and healthy environment is necessary for all living beings to survive. Unfortunately, due to pollution, deforestation, and global warming, our planet is in danger. World Environment Day encourages people to take small steps to make a big difference. Planting trees, saving water, reducing plastic use, and recycling waste are some ways we can help the Earth.

This day reminds us that we are not the owners of nature but its caretakers. It is our duty to respect and protect the environment for future generations. Let us all take a pledge to live in harmony with nature and work together to create a cleaner, greener, and healthier planet.
