Here are some facts about Jupiter:

Size

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system.

Composition

Jupiter is a gas giant with no solid surface. It's mostly made of hydrogen, similar to stars, but it's not massive enough to start burning.

Rings

Jupiter has a faint ring system made of dust. The rings include a main ring, a halo, and a gossamer ring. The rings are difficult to see, except when the sun is behind them.

Moons

Jupiter has 79 moons, including the four largest moons: Ganymede, Callisto, Io, and Europa. Ganymede is the largest moon in the solar system, and it's larger than Mercury and Pluto.

Great Red Spot

The Great Red Spot is a giant, high-pressure storm in Jupiter's atmosphere that's been raging for centuries. It's the largest storm in the solar system and is more than twice the size of Earth. Winds inside the storm can reach speeds of up to 680 kilometers per hour.

Exploration

NASA's Pioneer and Voyager programs, the ESA/NASA Ulysses probe, the NASA/ESA/ASI Cassini-Huygens mission, NASA's New Horizons probe, and NASA's Galileo orbiter have all explored Jupiter.
