The second Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is to end hunger and achieve food security by 2030. The goal aims to ensure that everyone has access to safe, nutritious food all year.

Here are some of the targets of SDG 2:

End malnutrition: End all forms of malnutrition, including stunting, wasting, and overweight

Improve agricultural productivity: Double the agricultural productivity and incomes of small-scale farmers

Promote sustainable agriculture: Implement sustainable food production systems and resilient agricultural practices

Improve access to food: Ensure access to safe, nutritious food for all people, especially the poor and vulnerable

Prevent trade distortions: Correct and prevent trade restrictions and distortions in world agricultural markets

The United Nations adopted the SDGs in 2015 as a call to action to address five critical areas: people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership.
