Valmiki Jayanti

A Celebration of India's Greatest Poet. Do you know who wrote the famous book Ramayana? It was Maharshi Valmiki, India's greatest poet. Valmiki Jayanti is celebrated every year to honor his birthday.

Maharshi Valmiki was a great poet and writer who lived thousands of years ago. He wrote the Ramayana, a book about Lord Rama's adventures. Valmiki is called the "Adi Kavi" or the first poet of Sanskrit.
