Household chemicals are a sneaky source of air pollution that often gets overlooked. Many of the everyday products we use—like cleaning supplies, paints, and air fresheners—release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the air. These compounds can cause all sorts of health issues, from headaches to respiratory problems. Plus, when used in poorly ventilated spaces, they can build up and create even more harmful indoor air. To keep our homes safer, we can look for eco-friendly or low-VOC products, which are better for both our health and the environment. Opening windows while cleaning or cooking can help improve ventilation, too. By being mindful of the chemicals we bring into our homes, we can create healthier living spaces for ourselves and our families. Small changes in our choices can lead to cleaner air indoors!
