Mature forests can store massive amounts of carbon, with tropical rainforests being particularly effective. Efforts to protect existing forests, promote reforestation, and implement sustainable forest management practices are essential in harnessing the full potential of forests as a nature-based solution to combat climate change and reduce net carbon emissions.
