The Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Indicator 5.c.1 of the UN assesses countries' efforts to track and publicly disclose allocations for gender equality and women's empowerment, with a focus on policy objective, tracking techniques, and public data availability. Developed in 2017, the technique was being tested by UN Women, UNDP, and OECD in 15 countries. In 2018, out of 69 countries, 81% needed to strengthen their oversight of financial allocations for gender parity. Despite progress, significant challenges remain: over 90% of women reside in countries with significant gender inequality. Worldwide endeavours are underway to mitigate gender disparities and improve these frameworks. Just a reminder.🤷
