Earth is the planet on which we live and people treat it like garbage. Earth is blue in colour because 71%of the Earth's surface is covered with water. But since,1900's many glaciers around us have been rapidly melting. Human activities like burning plastic, wasting water, wasting electricity have been causing damage to the earth. Plastic was invented in 1862 many people thought it would be a good invention. But in reality it is harmful. Human throw plastic bags in water and it is polluting the marine life and it is also dangerous for the aquatic animals. Arctic sea ice is shrinking 3% per decade and if this trend continues Artic Ocean will become ice-free by 2050. we people use 400 million tonnes of plastic every year. We should use jute bags instead of using plastic bags. Chipko Movement was started by Chandi Prasad Bhatt to save trees. Women used to hug the trees and saved them from being cut. One live example is Wayanad landslides. The landslides by heavy rainfall,climate change, were caused by deforestation, unregulated construction and mining, which destabalized the Western Ghats. Two villages were washed overnight in Wayanad. Multiple landslides hit Wayanad on July 30, 2024. over 106 people were killed. Hence, we should try to stop cutting trees, wasting water and wasting electricity.
