Thought by many to be a palace, the iconic Taj Mahal, one of the new 7 Wonders of the World, is in fact a mausoleum. Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, the Taj Mahal was constructed between 1632 and 1653. The architectural masterpiece is renowned for its symmetrical beauty and exquisite craftsmanship and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. To discover this symbol of love, check out our activities at the Taj Mahal.
