Between 1928 to 1956, the Indian hockey team wins 6 consecutive gold medals at Olympics.. Due to success of hockey players government declared hockey as national sports of India..

Now.....

Rise of cricket Cricket became the most popular sport in india.

Lack of infrastructure inadequate hockey facilities and training programs hindered developments.

International performance India's hockey team started to struggle, eading to a decline ininterest.

Better for those who prefer a faster paced, high intensity team sport with quick reflexes.

If for my personal suggestion, we should incourage both cricket and hockey players as cricket is most loved sports of India and hockey is our national sports.

We should try to win more medals and Olympics in hockey as well as cricket..

You can support whatever sport you want but also support hockey as it's our national sport, and also to show others that the Indians are best in everything...
