Sustainable development goals aims to meet our present needs without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs. There are total 17 goals. They were initiated by United Nations in 2015 and are to be achieved by 2030. In India some actions have been taken, with initiatives like Swachha Bharat mission for the cleanliness and waste management, extensive tree planting campaigns, and renewable energy projects. But these are not enough because 9 years are already completed, still India has the 112th rank. India is needed to improve its rank and only we can do this. For instance, most of you watch cricket and are very excited to know who will win.Every Indian wants India as the winner. So this is also a match, a competition and we have to make our country India, the winner. So please contribute as only 6 years are left to achieve sustainable goals on time. Do you think that we can achieve them by 2030? If we will try to achieve these goals in the same speed then we can never achieve them by 2030. We have to increase our speed. We can take help of the new technologies and of our mind too. The most important is to create awareness. Another thing is that in India the mind set of people is very different, they don't help our country in achieving this goals by thinking that if only I will do this so what will happen because others are not doing so. But if everyone will think that I should start it , I should do it, then the goals will be obviously achieved by us by 2030. Here are some steps which must be taken by us to achieve the goals on time. Everybody has to follow this and contribute for our environment and country. A little contribution in a day by you is a very big contribution for our country hand our environment. Kindly read this and make your habit.
1. 3Rs- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce waste by recycling and reusing things like papers, bottles etc.
2. Conservation of water - Implement water- saving techniques like rainwater harvesting and fix pipes to prevent leakage of water.
3. Plant trees - Plant atleast one tree in a week or month. This will help a lot in achieving sustainable goals soon as it absorbs carbon dioxide and give oxygen.
4. Support sustainable products - use eco-friendly products or products which have the minimum impact on environment. And use plastic as least as possible.
5. Energy Efficiency- turn off lights and fans when you are not at the home or in that room. This will this will help to save energy.
There are so many steps to be taken but here are some important one. Each should take these steps to improve our rank. An real Indian can do it. The soldiers face a lot of problems and some die for our country because they are real Indians. If soldiers can die for our country so can't we plant a tree for our country? Let us give our contributions. Come on we can achieve the goals by 2030.
Thank You
