World Athletics Day is being celebrated on May 7 annually all over the globe. This day is an opportunity to spread awareness about athletics. Over 169 countries across the world use this day to highlight the positive impact of athletics on individuals, communities, and society as a whole. World Athletics Day is organized by the IAAF (International Amateur Athletic Federation). It was first observed in the year 1996. More than 100 sports federations of the world took part in the 2016 IAAF World Athletics Day to promote sports and exercise to lead to good health.
The theme for World Athletics Day 2023 is “Athletics for All – A New Beginning."
World Athletics Day provides an opportunity for schools, colleges, and other organizations to promote their students' interest in a variety of other sports, ranging from running to shot throwing and other endurance sports.
This year Go Sharpener celebrated World Athletics Day with one fun activity play the balance relay with your neighbours, with a small ball and spoon. Balancing the spoon for a minimum of 20 meters. The basic objective of this activity is to boost the participation of youths in athletics.

- Sustainability superstars: We are encouraging our youth to work towards achieving sustainable goals, you can share your good work here and create an impact.
