1.Cut food waste

Plan meals, freeze leftovers, and eat your fridge clean once a week.

2.Switch to reusables for your top 3 disposables

Pick the things you throw away most: coffee cups, water bottles, grocery bags, takeout containers. Swap those first.

 3.Kill phantom power

Unplug chargers, TVs, and game consoles when not in use, or use a power strip you flip off. They drain energy 24/7 even when “off.”

4.Compost the easy stuff

Coffee grounds, banana peels, veggie scraps. You don’t need a fancy bin — many cities have drop-off or pickup programs now. Food in landfills makes methane. In compost, it makes soil.

5.Fix instead of toss

Sew the button, patch the jeans, glue the shoe sole, replace the phone battery. YouTube has a tutorial for all of it. Extending a product’s life by 9 months cuts its carbon, water, and waste footprint.
