Rajendra Singh is called the “Waterman of India” because of his work in bringing water back to dry areas. He worked in villages in Rajasthan where water was really scarce. Instead of using big modern projects, he helped people build small traditional water structures called johads that store rainwater. Over time, this actually helped bring back rivers and improve groundwater levels. What’s nice about his story is that it didn’t start as something huge—it was just small steps taken with local people. It shows that sometimes simple, local solutions can work better than expensive technology. His work also made people realize how important water conservation actually is in everyday life.
