Every time we leave a light on in an empty room or keep charging devices overnight, we waste energy that could power something meaningful. Energy isn’t endless — most of it still comes from fossil fuels, which add to pollution and climate change. That’s why switching off is more than a habit; it’s a responsibility.

Students can lead the way by practicing simple steps: turn off fans and lights when not needed, unplug chargers, and prefer natural light during the day. Schools can encourage “energy-free hours” or competitions to see which class saves the most electricity.

By switching off, we actually switch on sustainability — reducing carbon footprints, saving money, and protecting our planet. Small actions, repeated daily, create big impact.
