Overview

This is my Miller site in airports public places school and offices ,we are all away that these are garbage disposal bins. But where will all this go from here? What will happen to it? Let as discuss

What is garbage

Nothing that is no longer useful and has to be discarded is called garbage. Everyone , every house generate waste. Some countries generate less waste while other generate more . Waste can cause problems for the environment people and animals.

Management of waste

Biodegradable and non biodegradable waste need to be disposed of using different methods. Therefore, these two types of we should be separated and collected separately. After collecting each type of waste should be treated differently.

Disposal of Biodegradable waste

Biodegradable waste can be decomposed and used to produce biogas and organic manure. Some biodegradable waste such as paper can be reused  after recycling. Composting: it is the process of converting organic waste into manure . The decayed organic matter is called humus. It increases the fertility of the soil. Bin composting and vermiculture are the two methods of composting.

Vermiculture: it incompositing the organic matter into tile manure by using special types of earthworm called red worms. The compost formed is rich in nitrogen with plenty of moisture.

Recycling paper: recycling paper is good for the environment. It reduces the amount of garbage with throw away and decreases the number of trees we cut to make new pape Disposal of non - biodegradable waste

Non biodegradable waste like glass plastic and metal should be separated from other waste  before discarding. As these do not get composed, they are recycled ,combusted or left in landfills.

Recycling: non biodegradable waste is reduced to make new products. Does the old waste material is recycled into new products.

Combustion: plastic waste and rubber tyres can be burned at combustion facilities. Generated by burning  this waste is used to generate stream or electricity.

Landfills: landfills  are low lying areas, used as a long term store age areas for non biodegradable waste. Waste is spread in layers, compacted, and covered with soil. After the land fill is full , it is converted into a Park , playground . For the next 20 years, no buildings is constructed on it.
