Our Earth is a beautiful home with fresh air, clean water, and green land. But some things we do are making it dirty and unhealthy. This is called pollution. Pollution is when harmful things, like smoke and trash, get into our environment and hurt people, animals, and plants.

There are a few main ways we pollute our home:

1. Air Pollution

The air we breathe is important for life. When cars, trucks, and factories release smoky exhaust, it makes the air dirty. Burning garbage also causes bad smoke. This dirty air can make us sick with problems like a cough or asthma.

2. Water Pollution

We need clean water to drink and use every day. When we throw trash, chemicals, or dirty water into rivers, lakes, and oceans, it pollutes the water. This harms the fish and other sea creatures that live there, and makes the water unsafe for us, too.

3. Land Pollution

Our land gets dirty when we don't put our trash in the bin. Plastic bottles, wrappers, and other garbage create big piles called landfills. This waste can stay on the land for a very long time and makes the soil unhealthy for growing plants.

What We Can Do To Help

We can all be Earth's superheroes and make small changes in our daily lives to stop pollution.

Follow the 3 Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Reduce the amount of new things you use, especially plastic items like straws or bags.

Reuse containers, bags, and bottles instead of throwing them away.

Recycle paper, plastic, and glass so they can be made into new things.

Save Electricity and Water: Turn off lights and fans when you leave a room. Make sure taps are off so no water is wasted.

Plant More Trees: Trees are like nature's air cleaners! They help make the air fresh for everyone.

Walk, Cycle, or Carpool: Instead of always using a car, you can walk or ride your bicycle for short distances. This helps keep the air clean.

Put Trash in the Bin: Always use a trash can. If you don't see one, take your trash with you until you find one.
