The numerous causes of bullying:

There are a number of reasons that contribute to a person bullling someone else.

Home Environment: A child living in a home that is abusive, neglectful, or lacking in supportive parenting is more likely to repeat such behavior at school.

Power: A student may feel more powerful or have control over another individual when they bully someone else. They may also feel good about getting attention, as well as instilling cowardice in that person that they are bullying.

* Peer Pressure: In some cases, students feel it necessary to bully another person in order to be accepted by their friends or to avoid being bullied themselves.

* Low Self Esteem: A bully may have a very poor self-image, and by bullying another individual, he can elevate hisself-esteem to higher than it is.

* Culture and Social: Cultures that have a high tolerance for aggression or that promote competition over cooperation may create an environment that supports and condones bullying.
