Every year on March 20th, World Sparrow Day is observed, a yearly event dedicated to promoting the conservation of sparrows. World Sparrow Day is a global initiative that aims to raise public awareness of the importance of sparrows in maintaining ecological balance and biodiversity in cities and suburbs. This initiative was taken by the Nature Forever Society of India in collaboration with the Eco-Sys Action Foundation of France as well as many other international organisations around the world.

▪ The theme of World Sparrow Day 2023, is “I Love Sparrows,”.

The theme of World Sparrow Day 2023 is “I Love Sparrows”. The theme highlights the harmonious relationship between the sparrows and humans for years. The aim of the “I Love Sparrows” theme is to reminisce and cherish the amiable relationship between humans and sparrows.

The theme of Go Sharpener for this year's World Sparrow Day 2023 was “Sparrow conservation and protection” which encourages individuals and communities around the world to celebrate the unique beauty and value of sparrows, as well as to take action to support their conservation.

There are a variety of event types to make the celebration enjoyable and memorable.

Video Creator: There is no limit to creativity these days, you can make a creative video of yourself on the theme of the given activity and use the hashtag #Creator

Dance Champs: Dance brings in a festive mood and enthusiasm among us as well as spectators. You can make a fun and inspirational dance video and use the hashtag #Dancer

Artists: This is yet another activity where you can showcase your art and craft work by using the hashtag #Artist

Techno Geek: This is the way that is both fun and informative. Display your creative skills, especially with the availability of technology using the hashtag #Techguru

Just a min: Make a one-minute speaking video to motivate others through your words related to sustainable development goals. Use the hashtag #Speaker

Sustainability superstars: We are encouraging our youth to work towards achieving sustainable goals, you can share your good work here and create an impact.

Some of the best entries that we received:

· Anwesha Bhola from The Global Edge School made this speaking video stating the fact file of sparrows. Her video aims to inspire people about the significant role sparrows play in the biodiversity of the planet as well.

· Aakarsh Pal from Mount Abu Public School made this bird nest, an innovative and creative idea while spreading awareness to conserve common biodiversity.

· Dhwani Singhal from Ryan International School participated and wrote a poem for sparrows with a beautiful message to protect their habitat.
