A balanced diet is a diet that contains all the nutrients in the right amounts for proper growth. Food items in a balanced diet include cereals like rice, wheat, vegetables and fruits.
The food we need to consume differs for each person. Infants consume milk which is rich in protein and a complete diet for them. On the other hand adults and children who do more physical work reque more energy giving food in their diet.
Although we think the food we eat is a balanced diet, some nutrients might be lost due to washing, cooking or peeling etc. So make sure to not wash fruits and vegetables repeatedly and to not overcook food to prevent loss of nutrients.
