National Battery Day is observed every year on the 18th of February. This day is meant to recognize battery technology and how it has shaped the world.
Do you know why 18th Feb is selected? Because it is the birthday of Alessandro Volta, an Italian Scientist who invented the first true battery in 1800.
Batteries power so many things in our daily lives so it is very important to remember to responsibly recycle batteries once they reach their end-to-life. We should not only appreciate the role of batteries in our energy future but also consider how they can affect our environment.
Let us all do the pledge to spread awareness about the recycling of batteries:
- SPEAK UP When you See People throwing Batteries in the Trash.
- REACH OUT to others and spread awareness of recycling batteries properly.
- SERVE mother earth to make it a better place to live in.
In honour of National Battery Day, Go Sharpener came up with the theme “Importance of Recycling E-Waste” to demonstrate how critical batteries are to society. Plus we gave this chance to all of you to contribute and motivate others with the ways how to recycle e-waste using the hashtag #EWasteHero.
