Growing basil leaves at home is a fun and eco friendly way to help the planet. Basil is a small green herb that can be used in salads, pasta and soups. When we grow it ourselves,  we reduce the need to buy herbs packed in plastic from stores which helps cut down on waste .

When we grow our own herbs, we learn how plants grow and how important it is to care for nature. It also reminds us to be responsible for what we eat and how we live - that's what sustainability means .

 

A simple recipe of pesto sauce which is made from basil that can used in pasta, pizza or sandwich

Fresh basil leaves

2-3 pods of garlic

Walnuts 

Olive oil

Pepper

Salt

Lemon juice

Parmesan cheese

Blend all together in a mixer.

Your pesto sauce is ready!!!
