We light candles and diyas on Diwali/Bandi chhor Diwas to celebrate happiness. My religion teaches me that light wins over darkness. Bandi Chor Diwas reminds us of our Guru Hargobind Ji's release and helping others. I feel proud standing with my Dad and grandfather and seeing all the the glowing lights.
