This Diwali, I decided to celebrate differently — in a way that spreads light without harming the environment. Instead of bursting crackers, I decorated my home with handmade diyas, electric diyas. LED lights that save energy. It felt peaceful to see my house glow naturally, without the noise or smoke that usually fills the air.

I also reused old decorations from last year and created new ones using waste materials like paper rolls and glass jars. My family and I cleaned our surroundings and encouraged our neighbors to do the same before Diwali. It was fun, and it made our colony shine even more.

We also shared sweets and smiles with people who couldn’t afford to celebrate. That moment taught me what Diwali truly means — spreading happiness and hope.

Celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali not only protects our planet but also gives us a sense of pride. One small action can make a big difference. This year, I didn’t just light diyas — I lit a spark of awareness in myself and those around me.
